Visit of State Secretary Van Rijn to China

State Secretary Van Rijn started his visit to China on October 31 with a network reception at the residence in Beijing. During the network reception, he also witnessed the signing of several Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) between businesses and research institutes.

China revives the Silk Road

China is working hard on the construction of new silk routes, a network of routes linking Europe and China for centuries, to promote trade between east and west. Therefore, the country built major cities along the routes rapidly and kilometers of railways and terminals in the country.

Half a billion euros in Chinese orders for Dutch businesses

Dutch and Chinese businesses have signed a number of contracts and cooperation agreements during development minister Lilianne Ploumen’s trade mission to China. In total, the twelve agreements are worth at least half a billion euros. It is expected that their value will continue to rise over the coming years.

China slows dairy export from the Netherlands

“China slows imports from dairy from the Netherlands”, dairy companies said in the FD.

“China makes a striking motion to limit the export options” says Van der Meer, CEO of the goat milk producer Ausnutria Hyproca in Heerenveen.

Since May 1, only recognized dairy companies are allowed to operate in China. The country says the regulation is necessary to improve food safety.

Rutte on a trade mission to China again

Early next year, Prime Minister Mark Rutte will go to China again with a trade mission. That was said by Minister for Foreign Trade Lilianne Ploumen  in parliament. Late last year Rutte already paid a visit to China.

Two billion contract with China

During the state visit of Chinese President Xi there was approximately two billion euro in contracts signed with the Dutch business. A spokesperson for Foreign Trade Minister Ploumen mentioned. The value was an estimate: the exact amount was not yet quantifiable.
